Job Description

The Role
As part of Modernas community workforce development initiative with the Town of Norwood this internship provides handson exposure to facility operations and engineering support at our manufacturing site in Norwood MA. The role is intended for residents of Norwood interested in exploring careers in technical trades facilities maintenance or engineering support.


Interns will support the Facilities and Lab Services team in routine maintenance repair activities and small improvement projects under close supervision in a realworld regulated environment.


Heres What Youll Do

  • Assist with routine inspections and preventive maintenance planning.
  • Help carry out basic maintenance tasks to minimize disruptions to operations.
  • Support troubleshooting for facility systems and equipment including HVAC electrical plumbing and general infrastructure.
  • Participate in general repairs and facility upkeep.
  • Assist in coordinating outside vendors when needed.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of tools parts and supplies.
  • Follow established safety protocols at all times.
  • Contribute to small project work and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other support duties as assigned.

Heres What Youll Need (Basic Qualifications)

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to work fulltime onsite in Norwood MA.
  • No prior experience required.
  • No certifications or specific training required.

Heres What Youll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Resident of Norwood MA or member of the Norwood community
  • Enrolled in or graduated from Norwood High School or GED recipient from Norwood High School
  • Recommendation from a member of the Norwood community (e.g. teacher mentor program coordinator)
  • A desire to make an impact as part of a highgrowth transformational company that is Bold Relentless Curious and Collaborative.
  • Interest in facility operations building systems or technical trades
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative
  • Dependability punctuality and a strong sense of responsibility
  • Ability to follow instructions and contribute as part of a team
