Job Description
Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) is one of the largest school divisions in Alberta serving the education needs of approximately 17950 students in 42 schools. Elk Island Public Schools is recruiting a fulltime (1.0 FTE) Junior High Teacher at Clover Bar Junior High. Assignment includes: Math 8 and 9 Science 7 to 9 and a Sport for Life class. The successful candidate will need to be able to lead and participate in the physical activities of the course that include long distance biking overnight trips and a variety of other nonoutdoor pursuittype activities. A Class 2 drivers license or the ability to get one is a requirement.
Clover Bar Junior High serves approximately 430 students in grades 7 to 9 with 22 teaching staff and nine support staff. The school is located in Sherwood Park AB.
Clover Bar Junior High staff work hard to help students become the best they can be providing opportunities to be engaged in their learning as well as involved in a variety of extracurricular activities such as art band drama construction foods team sports and social activities.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education degree
- Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- Effective organization and classroom management skills
- Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe supported and challenged
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Experience or familiarity analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
- Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice
- Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training
