Job Description
What We Are Looking For
Baylor University is seeking an Makerspace Coordinator who will provide expertise support and access to technology and experiential learning facilities for faculty staff students and community partners. This position works with the Experiential Learning Manager of Creative Making to ensure efficient operation of the Experiential Learning Makerspaces and related services including staffing inventory budget management training and maintenance.
A Bachelors degree and one year of relevant work experience are required. A Masters degree and three years of relevant work experience are preferred.
A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
*All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a fulltime basis.
What You Will Do
- Oversee daily operation of the library makerspace including equipment maintenance software updates hours of operation badging and inventory
- Recruit hire train schedule and monitor the performance of the student Creative Making team
- Assist the Manager of Creative Making with course collaborations community events and special projects
- Organize and run systems to support and track makerspace activities such as patron access badging/credentialing and inventory management
- Facilitate orientations badging and maintenance for the Innovation Garage when the Supervisor of that space is unavailable
- Research and experiment to enrich self and contribute to strategic development of makerspace services for our communities
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylors mission
- Ability to comply with university policies
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
