Job Purpose
The Payment Specialist is responsible for accurately posting inpatient and outpatient payments reviewing and processing adjustments and writeoffs and managing related worklists in Meditech. This role ensures timely and precise payment reconciliation to support efficient billing office operations. The payment specialist need to be organized and able to analyze data to ensure accuracy. Accurate record keeping is essential for this role.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Duty

Accurately post inpatient and outpatient payments in a timely manner. Maintain established deadlines and performance metrics for payment posting.

Review and process claim adjustments and writeoffs in accordance with organizational policies

Manage EHR worklists including credit balance and unapplied transactions ensuring they are kept current and complete.

Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
Prior experience in medical billing payment posting or a related healthcare revenue cycle role is preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other computer applications. Meditech or similar electronic health record (EHR) systems experience is a plus.
