Location: Shore Educational Collaborative (multiple sites as needed)
Position Summary:
Shore Educational Collaborative is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician with a strong background in general maintenance and light carpentry or contracting. This role supports the daily upkeep and repair of program buildings office spaces and shareduse areas. The ideal candidate is handson reliable and can complete repairs independently while working collaboratively with the Facilities Lead and custodial staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance and repairs on walls doors windows furniture and fixtures.
- Patch and paint drywall repair furniture and reinforce equipment/facility structures.
- Install shelves mounts whiteboards safety rails and classroom hardware as needed.
- Assist with room setups for events including moving furniture and equipment.
- Support building projects by prepping spaces and working alongside vendors.
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks such as replacing filters checking exits and inspecting common areas.
- Conduct minor plumbing electrical or HVAC support (if within license and skill level).
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workspaces tools and storage areas.
- Respond to work orders submitted through the maintenance management system.
- Assist in snow removal preparation and response during winter months.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Facilities Lead or Director of Operations.
- Perform custodial duties as needed including cleaning sanitizing and restocking supplies in restrooms classrooms and common areas
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in maintenance carpentry or related field.
- Comfortable with hand tools power tools and basic safety procedures.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs climb ladders and perform physical labor.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills to track tasks and updates in work order systems.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or trade training preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in school healthcare or institutional settings.
- Familiarity with ADA compliance and safety codes.
- Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are encouraged to apply.
Special Requirements:
- Must be available for occasional evening or weekend work during emergencies shutdowns or special events.
- Must be able to travel between Shore Educational Collaborative sites as needed.
- Participate in snow removal operations as needed including shoveling salting and clearing walkways and entrances to ensure safe access during inclement weather.
