About the Position:
School Counselors work on a collaborative team to manage their individual caseloads focused on college and career planning and developing academic career and personal/social skills goals and plans. School counselors provide direct services through their counseling curriculum individual student planning and preventative/responsive services. Our school counselors are able to maintain open lines of communication with parents/guardians administrators teachers and other stakeholders to provide information that will serve the best interstes of the students.
Assists all students individually or in groups with developing academic career and personal/social skills goals and plans.
Accurately and appropriately interprets and utilizes student data.
Plans transitions for students as appropriate and assists with recommendations for futures planning.
Uses appropriate counseling processes and techniques for individual or group sessions to meet the development preventative and remedial needs of the students.
Qualifications:
A Masters degree from an accredited educational institution in education and/or a related field. State of New Hampshire certification or be eligible for New Hampshire certification.
What We Offer:
This is a fulltime school year position working 186 days per year with additional workdays per CBA. It is covered under our Pelham Education Association (PEA) collective bargaining agreement. Salary benefits and additional association benefits are in accordance with our collective bargaining agreement which can be found on our website under Department> Human Resources.
Selection Process:
Our interview process is designed for you to learn about our District and why Pelham is a great place to work! Our selection process typically includes an initial phone interview followed by an inperson interview with school administration and the Superintendent of Schools. The final step in the hiring process is nomination by the School Board.
