Job Description

Okemo Mountain School is a winter term ski and snowboard academy located in Ludlow VT. We are a small close knit school community with a diverse teaching staff. Our classes have a student teacher ratio of 2:1 providing individualized instruction personalized learning experiences and an optimum learning environment. We offer professional development and training opportunities to staff members and value a healthful school are seeking a general special educator to work with our middle school and high school students. The ideal candidate would be able to fulfill our special education services as well as teaching main stream classes within a subject area of their choice. Candidates need to have a bachelors degree and licensed in Special Education within the state of Vermont. Prior teaching experience and advanced degrees are a plus. Okemo Mountain Schools academic year runs from November 2025 to April 2026 and the school day runs from 12:005:45pm. There may be the opportunity for parttime work in the Fall and Spring with our full term students as well. Applicants must demonstrate knowledge in the subject have excellent oral and written communication skills utilize an integrated approach to curriculum and instruction have a willingness to be flexible and creative regarding instruction and assessment be techsavvy and able to establish a rapport with students and parents. Candidates must be highly motivated organized and able to multitask.
