As an Amazon Data Engineer you will be working in one of the worlds largest and most complex data environments. The data that we consume transform make addressable and vend to automated systems drives resolution decisions. This data is also visualized in UIs and dashboards that are used by thousands of users worldwide.
Our team is responsible for mission critical analytic reports and metrics that are viewed at the highest levels in the organization. We are also working on newer tools that help users discover data using visualization and Big Data technologies. You should have deep expertise in the design creation management and business use of significantly large datasets. You should have excellent business and communication skills to be able to work with business owners to develop and define key business questions and to build data sets that answer those questions. You should be an expert at designing implementing and operating stable scalable low cost solutions to flow data from production systems into the data lakes and enduser facing applications. You should be able to work with customers to understand the business requirements and implement reporting solutions. Above all you should be passionate about working with huge data sets and someone who loves to bring datasets together to answer business questions and drive change.

Key job responsibilities
You will partner with ServiceNow Application Development Engineers and connect the platform with external world through data.
Develop and maintain data pipelines to ingest data from various sources into the data lake. For example implement ETL processes to cleanse transform and enrich data for analytical purposes.
Lead development effort focusing on scalability quality and performance.
Implement data quality controls metadata management and data lineage tracking to ensure data integrity and compliance. Enforce data access controls and security measures to protect sensitive information.
Implement data governance and security measures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and protect sensitive information.
Monitor data pipelines and systems to identify and resolve issues promptly ensuring high availability and reliability of data infrastructure.
Stay uptodate with emerging technologies tools and industry trends in data engineering and contribute to continuous improvement of data engineering practices within the organization.

About the team

We obsess over the end user experience and we build our strategy based on the businesss requirements
We provide solutions to our customers initiatives not barriers. However we cannot allow them to make poor decisions especially in employee safety and information security.
3 years of data engineering or similar role experience
Experience with data modeling warehousing and building ETL pipelines
Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java Python C or C# including objectoriented design
Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
Experience in SQL
BS in Software Engineering or equivalent work experience.
Possess a sound understanding of computer science algorithms data structures object oriented design and databases.
Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift S3 AWS Glue EMR Kinesis FireHose Lambda and IAM roles and permissions
Experience with nonrelational databases / data stores (object storage document or keyvalue stores graph databases columnfamily databases)
Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
Noninternship professional software development experience
Possess an extremely sound understanding of computer science algorithms data structures object oriented design and databases
