Veterinary Technician Acequia Animal Hospital
About us:
Acequia Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced veterinary technician. Acequia Animal Hospital is a longstanding fullservice small animal veterinary practice with deep ties to the community located in beautiful Albuquerque New Mexico. Our goal is to provide compassionate and quality medicine while striving to make an impact in our community and treat our patients/clients like family.
Who Were Looking For
The ideal candidate would be compassionate towards our patients and clients. Be confident in rooming patients assisting in surgery monitoring surgery patients surgical recovery drawing blood and running bloodwork placing IV catheters knowledge of xray and proper positioning experience with inclinic laboratory equipment comfortable with proper animal handling and restraint understanding the importance of client education and is a positive and supportive team player. A positive and motivating attitude is a must. Qualifications
Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant.
Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT RVT or LVT) preferred or eligibility to obtain licensure based on state requirements.
Degree from an AVMAaccredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not .
Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians with exams treatments and surgical procedures.
Safely handle and restrain animals; administer medications and vaccines.
Collect lab samples and maintain accurate patient records.
Educate clients on pet care and ensure a clean organized work environment.
