Job Description
Our Machine Learning Acceleration (MLA) team develops the SOCs that are used to power todays AI workloads in datacenters all around the world. As a Frontend ASIC engineer youll contribute to the project at the ground level by automating workflows and developing largescale solutions that accelerate silicon development its still Day One here at Amazon!
Were searching for an experienced Frontend ASIC engineer with a background in RTL design and/or verification with a proven track record of handling challenges at scale. In this role youll be working directly with architects designers verification engineers software teams and backend experts defining best practices and deploying flows to keep the entire team aligned on our way to tapeout.
Key job responsibilities
* Develop infrastructure for ASIC design and verification teams
* Architect develop and deploy methodologies for ASIC design and verification teams
* Triage and rootcause issues in complex ASIC development environments
* Invent new solutions to eliminate identified inefficiencies
* Interface with DevOps team to provide compute farm network topology storage and tool requirements
Infrastructure
* Experience with configuring and deploying servers for storage or compute
* Experience with cluster management and job scheduling systems
* Handson experience troubleshooting and resolving common infrastructure problems
* Experience with monitoring and debugging infrastructure performance issues
Tools
* Experience with bestinclass revision control systems
* Experience architecting & deploying frontend ASIC development flows
* Experience with databases for storing large quantities of data
ASIC Frontend Development
* Experience automating manual tasks
* Strong handson experience with scripting languages to automate processes with clean reviewable and maintainable code
Infrastructure
* Familiarity with architecting configuring and deploying AWS services such as Amazon EC2 Amazon EFS Amazon EBS and Amazon QuickSight
* Familiarity with slurm
* Experience with architecting Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) jobs
* Familiarity with infrastructure required for emulation builds and deployment
Tools
* Experience with EDA tools such as SystemVerilog compilers/simulators
* Experience with FLEXLM and tool licenses
* Experience with advanced git configuration
* Experience with code review tools
* Familiarity with IDEs
ASIC Frontend Development
* Exposure to VLSI design concepts logic design
* Knowledge of best practices for Verilog / SystemVerilog coding
* Experience with objectoriented programming and software development methodologies
* Handson experience with design verification methodologies such as testplanning constrained random testing assertions and coverage closure
* Familiarity with frontend ASIC methodologies RTL lint synthesis LEC CDC RDC etc.

The base pay for this position ranges from $143300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $247600/year in our highest geographic market.
