SUMMARY:
The College of Business (COB) at East Texas A&M University is seeking innovative and forwardthinking individuals to serve as Department Heads. The positions are fulltime 9month tenured positions at the Associate or Full Professor rank with halftime teaching responsibilities. The positions are responsible for developing a productive and collaborative atmosphere mentoring faculty working effectively with the college deans and senior administration building excellence in curriculum and coursework creating efficient course rotations and scheduling in collaboration with the COB Executive Committee. Department Head serves on the COB Executive Committee.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides teaching scholarly activity and service consistent with rank
- Provides leadership for faculty at both the Commerce and Dallas locations
- Serves as a role model and mentor for faculty staff and students
- Works collaboratively with faculty and staff to implement departmental programs and college policies
- Maintains a current understanding of changes and trends in the discipline and effective pedagogical practices and leads curriculum development to support student success
- Ensures that departmental course offerings optimize resources and are offered in a timely manner to ensure the smooth flow of student progress toward graduation
- Maintains AACSB standards and vision within the department
- Promotes and mentors the professional development of faculty within the academic department
- Encourages and supports faculty attendance at professional conferences academic research publications and community engagement
- Provides mentorship for faculty to succeed in achieving tenure and advancing through ranks
- Supports fundraising efforts within the college
- Performs annual evaluations of faculty and assigned staff
- Develops annual performance plans outlining what each faculty or staff member will accomplish in the coming year.
- Exercises fiduciary responsibility on all departmental operating special and endowment accounts as well as fixed and consumable assets assigned to departmental programs
- May serve on selected departmental college and university committees
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: A terminal degree in a relevant business field or closely related field of study from a university with an AACSB accredited business program
- Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Peer reviewed journal publications within the last 5 years sufficient to maintain AACSB SA status and supportive of a university with R2 research status
- Experience teaching both online and facetoface in fields offered in the College of Business
PREFERRED EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Prior leadership experience
- Degree in Accounting Finance Management Marketing or fields associated with Management Science
- Currently holds rank of Associate or Full Professor
SUPERVISION OF OTHERS:
Supervises faculty and staff in the department
