Location/Division Specific Information:

The Microbiology Division provides solutions and workflow for food clinical and pharmaceutical environments. The markets we serve include food manufactures and labs clinical and healthcare pharma and biotech. We manufacture and distribute culture media and other microbiological diagnostic products serving customers in the pharmaceutical food and clinical laboratories.

How Will You Make an Impact:

As a Manufacturing Operator you will carry out the production process by closely following the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Standard Work Instruction Documents as they relate to assembly materials handling equipment operation and finished goods packaging.

A Day in the Life:

  • Follow all written procedures and report discrepancies in procedures (SOPs DHRs etc.) to the Area Supervisor.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when needed. Refer to job specific job Safety Analysis.
  • Perform all work activities in a safe manner. Maintain a safe and clutter free work area. Clean up all spills immediately.
  • Listen to follow and relay written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Report property damage and /or safety hazards to the Supervisor Human Resources Safety Specialist or Senior Management immediately.
  • Document accurately and check personal work for quality and compliance.
  • Continuously supervise product for defects.
  • Efficiently and safely operate assigned machinery and perform simple maintenance make necessary adjustments and report malfunctioning equipment immediately to Supervisor or Lead.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area which includes all assigned equipment.
  • Read understand and complete required documentation. All paperwork shall be accurately and neatly completed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Set up and adjust machine to operate a variety of sizes and types using tools to adjust machine.
  • Actively engage in making suggestions for process improvement.
  • Encourage an atmosphere of partnership.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • Required: No previous work experience required
  • Preferred: Previous work experience in manufacturing operations production or lab setting or related field
  • Preferred: Experience in a cGMP environment

Knowledge Skills Abilities:

  • Communicate efficiently in English both verbal and written
  • Understand and perform basic math

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time (around 10 hours a day)
  • Ability to use push/pull force of up to 80 lbs
  • Ability to lift product up to 50lb
