Job Description

Elk Island Public Schools is recruiting a parttime (0.75 FTE) Junior andSenior High teacher at Next Step Fort Saskatchewan. This position involves daily synchronous instruction for junior high core subjects (Grades 8 & 9) as well as delivering senior high English Language Arts (101/2 201/2) and Social Studies (101 201/2) to independent learners. The ideal candidate is highly organized proficient in Learning Management Systems such as Brightspace and/or Google Classroom and skilled at building strong supportive relationships with atrisk youth. A passion for personalized education and the ability to thrive in a dynamic studentfocused environment are essential.
Next Step Sherwood Park provides flexible outreach programming for grades 7 to 12 students with nine teaching staff and five support staff. The school is located in Sherwood Park AB.

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Education degree
Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
Effective organization and classroom management skills
Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe supported and challenged
Excellent verbal and written skills
Experience or familiarity analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction
Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice
Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals
