Position Description:
The Retirement Technician is responsible for providing advisory services to active and retired employees of the state retirement system regarding their benefits and assisting them in completing necessary forms and applications. The Retirement Technician is responsible for answering inquiries acting as a liaison between the state retirement office and employees and completing retirement systemrelatedformsinatimelyfashion.

Scope of Responsibility:
- Enrollsandterminatesemployeesintheretirementsystemwithin30daysofthechangeinemployment
- Verifiesretirementservicecreditrefundsofretirementandallrequisite
- Answers all inquiries related to retirement and retirement
- Maintainsindividualfilesforeachretirementmemberandupdatesinformationon
- NotifiesrelevantHumanResourcesandFinancepersonnelofupcoming
- Processesallservice/ILSB/disabilityretirement
- ProcessesallDROPIn/Outpaperworkand
- Meets with potential retirees and advises them on the retirement
- ClearsallexceptionsfromthemonthlyTRSLandLSERSexceptionsreportsandmakescorrectionstomembersmonthly
- InvestigatesallrejectionsfromthemonthlyTRSLrejectionsreportandmakesnecessary
- Maintainsanongoingdatabasetotrackemployee
- Works TRSL Questionable Year report on an ongoing basis.
- Works Retiree Return to Work report from Kelly Services weekly report.
- Works Retire Return to Work report from TRSL.
- Works TRSL Dual Retirement report (annually) on an annual basis.
- Works LSERS Audit (annually) on an annual basis.
- Updates retirement system on employees on workers compensation and do calculation should they elect to pay on full salary.
- Drop calculations update retirement CDHS (in and out).
- Meets with new hires during onboarding to provide information about retirement and plan systems.
- Annually audits TRSL retire return to work report.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Benefits and Leaves Executive Director of Employee Services and/or Chief Human Resources Officer.

Physical Involvement:
Sitting is required most of each work day. Must be able to operate office equipment. Standing walking reaching bending and lifting up to 30 pounds is sometimes required. Must possess mobility skills necessary to access a variety of work areas.
