The Mother Infant Unit consists of 24 beds (between the 3rdand 5thfloor of the Dorrance Building). This unit specializes in the care of the postpartum couplet. The care includes frequent assessments for postpartum complications of the mother and newborn including but not limited to preeclampsia postpartum hemorrhage and infant hypoglycemia. This unit specializes in offering emotional support to the new dyad while also providing extensive teaching and crucial education prior to discharge.
Previous hospital experience is preferred.
Additional unitspecification qualification may be required.
High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
Unit Secretary Certification is desirable.
