Job Description

The Global Design team is looking for a creative innovative resultsoriented Program Manager based in Seattle WA or Arlington VA who will be responsible for supporting the Global Design Team reporting to the Senior Manager Global Design. This role will support the Design teams across 3 global regions (AMER EMEA and APAC) and will work closely with the Design & Construction (D&C) team the Workplace Guidelines & Standards team and the Global Transformation & Insights team.

This role will be responsible for program management of the various initiatives of the Design Team through the introduction and oversight of tools and schedule tracking as well as assisting in coordination and content development to ensure standardization highquality deliverables and ontime delivery. The Design Team is responsible for a wide range of projects including Capital Planning establishing foundational design packages for use by our design partners and vendors and providing design oversight for new and postoccupancy renovation projects. Over time this role should gain familiarity with Amazons Global corporate workplace portfolio in order to assist in ensuring that our tools and resources are equally applicable regionally. This role will also work with the Workplace Guidelines & Standards team and the Design & Construction Delivery teams globally.

The successful candidate has experience in design and delivery of corporate workplace including knowledge of industry benchmarks (both aesthetic and budget specific). The successful candidate will be able to communicate clearly at all levels and yet is not afraid to dive deep into details. This role works autonomously and creatively in a fastpaced ambiguous environment and will be working on multiple projects most of which have very tight delivery timelines. Attention to detail and ability to inspect issues and processes brings simplified solutions to complex problems is paramount. They should also understand the nuance of being approachable while at the same time consultative. The candidate must be able to balance frugality with creativity in offering solutions and approach problemsolving with an emphasis on root cause.

This role supports our Global team so may requires travel approximately 10% of the time.

Key job responsibilities
Oversee and coordinate various tracks of work for the Global Design team including involvement and coordination with relevant stakeholders to ensure content consistency quality and ontime delivery.

Strategic partnership with the Senior Manager Global Design on specific initiatives.

Work cross functionally with regional peers to ensure a consistent experience for customers whilst respecting local/cultural nuance.

Collaborate with GREF partner teams including Regional Portfolio Management Sustainability and Environmental Health and Safety and Travel and Events to elevate program deliverables and improve the quality of Amazon workspace with a focus on resiliency efficiency health and safety.

Routinely connect to external industry professional bodies and communities ensuring new industry standards best practices technology and innovations are adopted into the program.

The Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) team provides real estate facilities and workplace services in over 60 countries. GREF is organized into three pillars: Regional Portfolio Management Global Centers of Enablement and Global Centers of Expertise. The Workplace Design and Construction team sits within the Global Centers of Expertise.

The Global Design team shapes design concepts that align with GREFs strategic vision and brand identity enhancing employee wellbeing. The Workplace Guidelines team creates implements and refines Amazons Global Workplace Design Guidelines and Standards. The Design & Construction delivery team builds new and refreshed office spaces labs production facilities and more.

5 years of program or project management experience
Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
Experience owning program strategy end to end delivery and communicating results to senior leadership
Bachelors degree in Architecture Interior Design Design Engineering or related professional experience.

5 years of design program management experience demonstrating progressive responsibility and increased scope in physical building (design/construction) programs.
Experience in architecture interior design retail development property development planning procurement facilities management and/or construction.
Proven decision making and problemsolving capabilities with strong follow up skills and attention to detail.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with exceptional ability to translate ideas and thoughts into written documents.
Continuous learning mindset and commitment to staying uptodate with industry trends and best practices.
Familiarity with relevant industry codes standards and regulatory requirements.
Experience working and contributing to building schedules managing issues/risks establishing communication plans and stakeholder management.
Experience escalating issues and anticipating and making hard tradeoffs between business and customer need.
Able to build constructive and effective relationships and use them to maneuver through complex situations.
