Global Networks & Technology Security & Operations is responsible for Telstras security and operations protecting Telstras assets and infrastructure.
About You
You are a seasoned professional with extensive experience in cyber security and technology. Your deep expertise allows you to identify anticipate and resolve security threats effectively. You are recognized as a subject matter expert and a trusted advisor by your colleagues partners and customers. Your collaborative nature and strategic thinking enable you to work seamlessly within a specialized security team. You are passionate about continuous learning and are always uptodate with the latest technologies tools systems and processes. Your ability to coach and mentor less experienced team members is a testament to your leadership skills. You are comfortable communicating with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders and able to influence decision makers in matters of risk in security and business outcomes.
Please note all candidates must be Australian Citizens to be considered. This role will require you to hold and maintain an NV1 AGSVA security clearance.
This position operates in a 24x7 Incident Management environment.
This position is based out of Telstras Security Operations Centre team (SOC) and requires candidates to be located in Melbourne Canberra or Sydney.
What Youll Do
As a Security AnalysisSenior Analyst you will be an integral part of a specialist security team leveraging your deep expertise and experience in multiple technologies and areas of the security domain. Your responsibilities will include:
Incident Response: Utilize your extensive expertise in security incident response to handle complex security incidents. Gather information document actions and outcomes for forensic purposes and drive continuous improvement in threat defenses and incident responses.
Threat Mapping and Analysis: Apply an intelligencedriven approach to map threats against security controls identify gaps and propose improvement opportunities. Conduct research to identify vulnerability exploitations and potential attacks understand threat actors and how security system vulnerabilities can be exploited.
Threat Intelligence: Create and deliver timely accurate and actionable intelligence on established and emerging threats. Use innovative communication techniques to ensure comprehension of these threats.
Threat Hunting: Conduct endtoend specialized detections targeting evolving adversary capabilities through proactive intelligencedriven threat hunting activities.
Collaboration and Influence: Work closely with the business to align with the Telstra cyber security framework and implement security standards. Assess vendor solutions to meet business requirements and manage vendor performance to ensure technical functionality time and cost outcomes are met.
Security Assurance: Conduct security assurance of operational security controls across technologies processes and projects. Contribute to tactical and strategic initiatives complex problem management postincident reviews and business continuity planning to ensure Telstras security standards evolve to industryleading best practices.
Risk Management: Apply the Telstra Cyber Risk Management process and participate in the maintenance and update of policies standards and tools to reflect evolving threats and global best practices.
Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement of Telstra security standards through assessments across selected cyber security control domains and take actionable steps to address gaps and issues.
SME Advice: Provide specialist advice to Telstra Business Functions for ISO/IEC 27001 certifications and activities governing formal Information Security Management System (ISMS) programs. Contribute to the creation of reports required by the security function.
Commercial Bids and Integration: Contribute to commercial bids and the onboarding and integration of new security capabilities and customers to ensure the quality of service provided by the Security Operations Centre (SOC) is maintained.
Capability Maintenance: Maintain a high level of capability in cyber security and technology including new and emerging technologies tools systems and processes. Model continuous learning and actively coach and mentor less experienced team members.
