Job Description

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design planning delivery and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers storage networking power and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain and were looking for talented people who want to help.

Youll join a diverse team of software hardware and network engineers supply chain specialists security experts operations managers and other vital roles. AWS Boost supports Data Center Operations globally define plan execute monitor and validate technicianfacing work. We increase throughput by prioritizing high value work that maximizes capacity delivery while protecting security safety and availability through software auditable controls.


Key job responsibilities
As Manager of Boost Work you will own software solutions that will enable process owners and global operations to create and manage qualifications based on multiple criteria required to discover and execute work. Qualifications will help data center cluster leaders to optimize throughput based on the work demand/backlog and available workforce qualified to do work and also identify opportunities to cross train. You are expected to excel when faced with ambiguity. You have high judgement and understand which opportunities drive the most strategic value for the business. You will not be limited by the present and will constantly look ahead to the future. You enjoy working in a collaborative analytical and fastpaced environment and are comfortable interacting with highly technical crossfunctional teams. You have excellent analytical capabilities be comfortable diving deep into data and have strong writing skills. You have a track record of understanding customer needs and delivering technology solutions to address those needs. This is a highly visible position that will interact at all levels of the AWS Infrastructure business.

3 years of engineering team management experience
7 years of working directly within engineering teams experience
5 years of designing or architecting (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
8 years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing certification and livesite operations

Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Experience in communicating with users other technical teams and senior leadership to collect requirements describe software product features technical designs and product strategy
Experience in recruiting hiring mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
