Job Description
ESY Nurse
The ESY Program runs from June 30 to July 25 (closed July 4).
Monday Thursdsay 8:15 12:45
Friday 8:15 11:45
The program will be located at Oxford Middle School and services students Grades PK 12
Rate: $40/hr
Qualifications:
- Must be an RN.
- Currently licensed by the State of Connecticut Department of Health.
- Current certification in CPR
- The ability to assess and evaluate the health status of each student in order to make a nursing diagnosis and establish a health plan.
- The ability to interpret the health status and medical findings to the student parent and staff responsible for the child.
- The ability to recommend to the administration modifications in the educational program for a student due to changes in the students health or medical status.
- Excellent communication skills to serve as liaison between the parents school and community in health matters.
- Knowledge of and experience in performing health screenings
- The ability to observe students as needed to detect health problems/issues.
- Excellent organizational skills needed to maintain cumulative health records on all students.
- The ability to assume responsibility to render emergency care to a student or staff member when injured or ill.
- The ability to review and recommend revisions in school nursing policies and procedures.
