Data Center Operations Technician, DCC Communities

The Infrastructure Operations organization is looking for Data Center Technicians to take AWS Data Center Operations to the next level. The position will help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations. This position involves hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repair and includes participation in an oncall rotation. All candidates should be willing to work both independently and with a team. Work prioritization organizational skills effective communication and the ability to react quickly are critical to being successful. In addition to hardware and network repair candidates will install equipment create documentation innovate solutions participate in sitelevel project work and fix complex problems within the Data Center Space. This team works in an environment that operates 24/7 and on a rotating shift schedule.

This position will be primarily be based in Garland TX but might have to travel to address tickets and projects at other sites in the local DFW area. There also be occasional travel to other sites in the US up to 20% of the time.

A technical degree or 2 years of professional or military experience in an IT related field.
2 years of experience with Networking or Computer hardware
2 years of experience with Storage Devices.

Data Center Operations experience (racking & stacking devices cable management hot & cold aisle containment knowledge).
Experience in participating in oncall rotations and providing afterhours support in an environment that operates 24/7.
Experience with troubleshooting server devices and understanding key functions of internal outer components.
Understanding of file systems and Operating systems such as Linux Windows MAC.
Experience with storage devices
