Visiting Assistant Professor

JOB SUMMARY

The University of Connecticut (UConn) is pleased to invite applications for a faculty position in the Department of Mathematics at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor at its Stamford campus beginning August 23 2025. This position will teach seven undergraduate courses during the academic year using a 4/3 or 3/4 semester load format.

UConn Stamford is an urban campus at the center of one of Fairfield Countys robust business communities just 45 minutes from New York which gives students ample opportunities for internships and careers. The campus serves 3000 undergraduate and graduate students including many firstgeneration college students. It offers 14 undergraduate majors including business administration digital media and design computer science and history.

Founded in 1881 UConn is a Land Grant and Sea Grant institution and member of the Space Grant Consortium. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• A Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in Mathematics (granted by August 2025).
• Proven track record in both teaching excellence and deploying innovative pedagogical strategies in Universitylevel teaching as the primary instructor or instructor of record.
• Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with a broad range of perspectives in teaching.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with educational technologies such as online homework systems message boards videos smartboards and interactive technological teaching tools.
• Experience teaching large lectures.

APPOINTMENT TERMS

This position is a fulltime ninemonth position for an initial duration of one year renewable for up to two additional years (three years total) contingent on satisfactory performance mutual agreement and availability of funds.

The successful candidates academic appointment will be at the Stamford campus.
