Job Description

River Hospital is seeking a Medical Technologist to work per diem in our Laboratory Department.

Job Purpose

The Clinical Laboratory Technologist under supervision of the manager and pathologist assumes responsibility for the daily technical work performed in the laboratory. The Technologist performs and assists with specialized procedures. They perform and monitor QC and patient samples attends inservices records problems and monitors abnormalities notifying
manager or pathologist of problems.

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology or related field from an accredited institution and/or MT (ASCP) registered or eligible
NY State License for Clinical Laboratory Technologist is required
12 Continuing Education Credits are required each year to maintain licensure

It is the employees responsibility to know the requirements for certification limited permit and licensure for their individual profession. It is also the responsibility of the employee to notify the employer of the status of any certification or licensure issue or potential issue. The employee will comply with all the requirements outlined by the New York State Office of professions for the profession.
