2025-2026 School Year: 1st Grade Teacher

We areaccepting applications fora 1st Grade Teacher for theschool year.

New employees are expected to attend New Teacher Orientation which is tentatively scheduled for on August 14th & 15th and the week of staff professional development beginning August 18th. The first day of school for students is August 25 2025.

An SLCS teacher is responsible for planning instruction activities and assessments based on the SLCS curriculum. Teachers are tasked with creating an integrated instructional program that supports an inclusionbased learning approach fostering a safe environment that respects academic and cultural diversity. Additionally teachers are expected to work together with other teaching and support professionals in a collaborative manner to provide teaching strategies and methods that address a wide range of learning styles individual needs interests abilities and maturity levels of students.

Among other things a School Lane Charter School Teacher is responsible for:

• Designingdeveloping and deliveringcurriculum and instructional programs in alignment withthe mission and vision of the school.
• Establishingclear objectives for all lessons units and projects and communicating those objectives to students.
• Creatingand maintaining engaging classroom environments that promote inquirybased learning and discussions.
• Establishingand maintainingclassroom management procedures to clearly communicate expectations to ensure an effective learning environment.
• Usingmultiple forms of authentic assessment to interpret assess evaluate and report student learning outcomes.
• Maintaining up to date grade books and providing progress reports as required that include comments addressing students strengths and areas of growth.
• Maintaining accurate and complete student records as required by law district policies and administrative regulations.
• Participatingin back to school night parentteacher conferences and other school events.
• Planning and coordinating unit exhibitions.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Education or related field
• Appropriate Pennsylvania Department of Education Certification (Elementary K6 Grades PK4)
• Understanding and commitment to inclusive learning
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
• Strong research planning and organizational skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to positively interact with students to encourage development
• Experience with MS Office Google Docs
