REAL ESTATE OVERVIEW
Bain Capital Real Estate was formed in 2018 and pursues investments in often hardtoaccess sectors underpinned by enduring secular trends that drive longterm demand growth for real estate assets and services. The Bain Capital Real Estate team has been executing its strategy since 2010 (formerly as a part of Harvard Management Company) having invested and committed $9.8 billion of equity in over 600 assets across multiple sectors. The Portfolio Analytics Associate will join the BCRE Portfolio Analytics team and will be responsible for the maintenance and integrity of the portfolios performance records. The Associate will be the financial partner to the investment investor relations and portfolio management teams and will be expected to provide financial insight analysis and reporting for the investments within the portfolio.
This role relies on continuous communication with both the finance and investment teams to ensure that all team members have the necessary data and insight into each property and the portfolio. An important component of this role is a constant understanding of the portfolios investments recent and upcoming activity and the current financial position of the portfolio.
The responsibilities of the Portfolio Analytics Associate will include but not be limited to the following:
Support the quarterly production of property investment and fund level performance track records
Prepare quarterly and yearend reporting including portfolio update slides executive summaries fund and asset level dashboards and yearend portfolio summaries for communication with investors and investment team
Identify/develop tools and analyses in Yardi Chatham and Anaplan platforms to maximize the teams capabilities for realtime use of data
Assist with ongoing financial modeling needs for the Portfolio Analytics team and broader BCRE platform acting as a subject matter expert for BCRE models and tools. Continuously evaluate and improve models and tools building additional excelbased models and tools to drive future portfolio management efficiencies
Diligently track investment activity to update team on upcoming acquisitions and dispositions portfolio construction and investment pace
Work closely with Investor Relations to update marketing materials utilizing fund financial data and portfolio track records
Partner with Investment team to provide data and insight into individual properties and portfolios
Produce and maintain accurate and timely reports related to portfolio and asset management for senior management
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
We are actively seeking candidates with the following skills and qualifications:
A Bachelors degree in Finance Economics Financial Mathematics Accounting or similar major
Entry level to 2 years of relevant experience preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with experience working within the real estate or private equity industries
Advanced Excel skills and modeling experience
Progress towards a relevant professional designation (CFA CAIA CPA) a plus
Knowledge and demonstrated interest of financial markets and products
Excellent communication skills plus demonstrated confidence and ability to communicate with all levels of management
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Must be extremely detail oriented and demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and selfmotivation
Experience in Anaplan Yardi and / or Chatham a plus
