Stable profitable manufacturer is seeking a Quality Manager with HACCP background to lead a small team of quality professionals. The Quality Manager will oversee the sites quality system and will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Monitor and improve the sites established quality management system
- Oversee and ensure regulatory and legal compliance including leading and guiding all direct reports to confirm compliance
- Manage and lead root cause analysis and ensure countermeasures are completed
- Handle customer quality concerns and update them on the quality status
- Oversee daily operation of the quality lab and ensure testing goals are met
- Prepare for and execute internal and external quality audits
- Drive and achieve quality continuous improvement initiatives
- Interact with plant and corporate teams on quality projects
- Ensure product quality documentation meets regulatory requirements
- Lead and participate in crossfunctional teams related to plant quality
- Update and maintain the site HACCP plan and adhere to HACCP requirements
- Follow industry regulations
- Execute and improve quality training
- Complete nonroutine quality projects and higher level crisis management
- Monitor and oversee the quality budget
- Other tasks as assigned by management
Candidates should be able to communicate at all levels and when needed work in a hands on capacity. Candidates should have excellent problem solving skills be able to lead by example and work well in team oriented environments. Medical benefits are available day one of employment. A Bachelors degree is required; ideally in biology or chemistry related fields 2. At least 23 years in a similar quality management role3. Experience overseeing quality in HACCP regulated environments4. Working knowledge of HACCP processes5. Experience overseeing quality control functions (examples: auditing nonconformances root cause analysis countermeasures etc.)6. Supervision of others7. Microsoft Office
Skills preferred but NOT required:1. Six Sigma or Lean methodologies2. Quality lab management3. Customer communication
