Job Description
The Accounting Associate assists in a variety of financial activities projects and transactions for multiple business entities. This position must understand accounting concepts and position the necessary skills to communicate them efficiently.
Education and Experience
- Associate degree in finance
OR
- 35 years finance/accounting experience
- Thorough understanding of accounting principles practices and policies
- QuickBooks experience required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites
- Experience working in the hospitality industry preferred
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for accounts payable processing to include entries and preparation of weeklycheck disbursements.
- Manages accounts receivable by ensuring accurate and timely invoicing track and provide follow up on delinquent accounts and recording of transactions.
- Reconciliation of daily receipts.
- Processes monthly credit card statements ensuring all transactions are accurate with supporting documentation.
- Responsible for end of month General Ledger (GL) processing to include bank reconciliations and interagency account reconciliations.
- Process and prepare information for accountants monthly and annually ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Responsible for creating financial reports and providing owners/directors monthly profit and loss statements by division.
- Provides requested reporting in an accurate complete and timely manner regarding financial inquiries.
- Responsible for outside vendor maintenance including current W9 information tracking and year end 1099 preparation.
- Stay current on all emergency procedures and acts accordingly.
- Adhere to all work rules procedures and policies established by the company including but not limited to those contained in theEmployee Handbook.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management
