Job Description

The Accounting Associate assists in a variety of financial activities projects and transactions for multiple business entities. This position must understand accounting concepts and position the necessary skills to communicate them efficiently.

Education and Experience

  • Associate degree in finance

OR

  • 35 years finance/accounting experience
  • Thorough understanding of accounting principles practices and policies
  • QuickBooks experience required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites
  • Experience working in the hospitality industry preferred

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for accounts payable processing to include entries and preparation of weeklycheck disbursements.
  • Manages accounts receivable by ensuring accurate and timely invoicing track and provide follow up on delinquent accounts and recording of transactions.
  • Reconciliation of daily receipts.
  • Processes monthly credit card statements ensuring all transactions are accurate with supporting documentation.
  • Responsible for end of month General Ledger (GL) processing to include bank reconciliations and interagency account reconciliations.
  • Process and prepare information for accountants monthly and annually ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Responsible for creating financial reports and providing owners/directors monthly profit and loss statements by division.
  • Provides requested reporting in an accurate complete and timely manner regarding financial inquiries.
  • Responsible for outside vendor maintenance including current W9 information tracking and year end 1099 preparation.
  • Stay current on all emergency procedures and acts accordingly.
  • Adhere to all work rules procedures and policies established by the company including but not limited to those contained in theEmployee Handbook.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management
