Description
- Correctly schedule patients by utilizing the computergenerated data prompts.
- Cross trained to preregister register and log in and log out patients.
- Conduct residency and insurance screens on patients and advises the patient as to the assigned care source (i.e. their PCP etc.) so that the appropriate referral can be made.
- Correctly enter and appropriately update patient information via computer profiles.
- Communicate with third party reimbursement agents to verify eligibility.
- Complete referral form on a daily basis and ensures clinical information for specialty appointment s is received prior to patient arrival.
- Fully understand provider schedules and follow provider template guidelines.
- Overbook provider schedules per provider request in a manner that minimizes patient wait times.
- Manage physicians schedule so that there are an appropriate number of patients given within the allotted clinic time.
- Correctly attach required medical record forms to medical records of new patients.
- Accurately and efficiently process physicians orders when required.
- Correctly enter/schedule special tests labs xrays etc. via computer and/or designated process; document appropriately when required.
- Correctly process referrals and return appointments when required.
- High School Diploma (or Equivalent.)
- Prior medical receptionist experience and training course work is preferred.
- Knowledge of hospital and department Mission Vision and Values as well as policies and procedures patient interface procedures.
- The ability to operate technical equipment as acquired through orientation.
