Job Description

To lead the product management process for the Portfolio Review Department Europe.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Manages staff. Provides guidance training and motivation as necessary to develop staff. Hires evaluates and counsels managers and crew. Follows corporate disciplinary procedures per established Vanguard standards as required. Sets performance standards reviews performance provides feedback and recommends wage increases in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.

2. Develops and implements plans to achieve departmental objectives as a member of the PRD Leadership Team. Works with other department leaders in the planning development and execution of short and long range goals.

3. Responsible for the overall product management and technical positioning of Vanguard pooled fund products (funds ETFs Trusts etc.) and associated product related features (eg Stock Lending).

4. Responsible for monitoring the ongoing health viability and suitability of the Vanguard fund lineup including adherence to regulatory requirements (e.g. Mifid 2 TCF) and providing suitable business dashboard as needed. Provides direction and guidance to a team of product analysts assessing the health and positioning of Vanguards investment products relative to competing products.

5. Responsible for making specific recommendations for improving the lineup individually or collectively. Responsible for collaborating with the Corporate Financial Services group to inform the pricing of our funds.

6. Responsible for leading a high caliber client facing specialist product support team covering asset class and product variants. This includes compelling communication of the specifics of the products to internal audiences (e.g. sales teams training sessions RFP teams) and external audiences (e.g. presenting in client facing scenarios pitches investment committees etc).

7. Responsible for serving as process owner for global product management processes. Prepares and presents strategic analysis findings and recommendations to the appropriate product governance Committees.

8. Develops and maintains key internal stakeholder relationships across the organization (including our internal investment teams client groups legal finance etc).

9. Keeps abreast of industry market and company trends and partners with investment and business leaders to understand key concerns and opportunities.

10. Role models best leadership practices across the business participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience; MBA and/or CFA preferred.
  • Minimum of ten years business experience including relevant experience in strategy investment analysis and financial analysis.
  • Exceptional leadership organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including strong presentation skills to senior management.
  • Proven track record of delivering business results in complex environments. Ability to make decisions and execute amidst fluid and uncertain environments.
  • Strong familiarity with Vanguards investment product lineup and an indepth understanding of the principles of asset management and the overall investment markets.
  • Strong understanding of Vanguards primary business strategy.
  • Strong problemsolving and analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent project management and prioritization skills.
