Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and ambitious History teacher to join our team as a 2nd in Charge (2ic) of History at our highly regarded Catholic school in Barking. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your leadership skills and contribute to the continued success of our History department.

Role Overview:

  • Support the Head of History in the strategic leadership and management of the department.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of an engaging and challenging History curriculum.
  • Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of teaching and learning ensuring high standards.
  • Lead on specific departmental projects and initiatives.
  • Provide mentorship and support to colleagues.
  • Teach engaging History lessons across all key stages.

We Require:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Degree in History or a related subject.

  • A commitment to the values of Catholic education.
