Job Summary for Distribution Engineer (List Format):
- Design plan and optimize electrical distribution systems (overhead & underground lines substations transformers etc.) ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Perform network analysis including load flow analysis fault analysis and voltage drop calculations to assess and improve system performance.
- Maintain accurate records of distribution assets; conduct condition assessments and recommend maintenance repair or replacement as needed.
- Specify and select appropriate distribution equipment (transformers circuit breakers switches protective devices) based on system requirements.
- Ensure all distribution system designs meet safety standards environmental regulations and industry codes; coordinate with regulatory authorities for approvals.
- Identify and implement strategies to improve system reliability enhance power quality and increase system resilience.
- Evaluate and design infrastructure for new electrical connections assessing impact on the existing network.
- Manage distribution infrastructure projects from inception to completion coordinating with internal teams contractors and vendors to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery.
- Respond to emergencies and outages by conducting rapid assessments and restoring power efficiently.
