Job Summary for Distribution Engineer (List Format):
Design plan and optimize electrical distribution systems (overhead & underground lines substations transformers etc.) ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Perform network analysis including load flow analysis fault analysis and voltage drop calculations to assess and improve system performance.
Maintain accurate records of distribution assets; conduct condition assessments and recommend maintenance repair or replacement as needed.
Specify and select appropriate distribution equipment (transformers circuit breakers switches protective devices) based on system requirements.
Ensure all distribution system designs meet safety standards environmental regulations and industry codes; coordinate with regulatory authorities for approvals.
Identify and implement strategies to improve system reliability enhance power quality and increase system resilience.
Evaluate and design infrastructure for new electrical connections assessing impact on the existing network.
Manage distribution infrastructure projects from inception to completion coordinating with internal teams contractors and vendors to ensure timely and budgetcompliant delivery.
Respond to emergencies and outages by conducting rapid assessments and restoring power efficiently.
Analyze system data (from monitoring systems smart grids sensors) to assess performance and support datadriven decision making.
