We are seeking a detailoriented and competent Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our Laboratory Services team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting patient diagnosis and treatment through accurate and timely laboratory testing. The role involves performing investigations across multiple disciplines and ensuring quality standards equipment functionality and compliance with regulatory protocols.
To perform routine and specialized laboratory investigations across various diagnostic disciplines in accordance with established protocols supporting the hospital s clinical services in accurate diagnosis monitoring and management of patient care.
Conduct laboratory tests in hematology clinical chemistry microbiology immunology parasitology and histopathology.
Validate and report laboratory test results accurately and on time.
Ensure adherence to internal quality control and external quality assurance standards.
Calibrate operate and maintain laboratory instruments and analyzers.
Observe proper specimen collection handling labeling and storage protocols.
Maintain accurate documentation and update patient laboratory records in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
Enforce compliance with safety infection control and waste management procedures.
Support the implementation of ISO 15189 and other quality improvement initiatives.
Participate in continuing professional development and internal training sessions.
Assist in the orientation and supervision of interns and laboratory aides.
Provide technical support during laboratory audits and inspections.
Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) from a recognized institution.
Valid practicing license and uptodate registration with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
Completed National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program.
Minimum of 2 3 years postNYSC work experience in a hospital or diagnostic laboratory setting.
Demonstrated experience in operating automated laboratory equipment and analyzers.
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and precision.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Computer literacy and experience using LIMS.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
