Summary
Seeking a dedicated compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to support our Extended School Year (ESY) summer program serving students. This is a parttime shortterm opportunity ideal for school nurses pediatric nurses or healthcare professionals seeking summer work with a Monday–Thursday schedule and guaranteed long weekends off.
Nurses will work independently at a single assigned site and play a vital role in maintaining student health and safety throughout the program. Flexible options are available for those interested in covering either the full 6week term or a shorter 1–3 week shift depending on district needs.
What You’ll Do
- Work Monday through Thursday 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM each week — Fridays off throughout the summer
- Serve as the primary medical professional onsite during the ESY program at one assigned school location
- Provide direct health care supervise medical needs and ensure the safety of students during the threehour program window
- Administer medications respond to chronic conditions and manage emergency care plans
- Maintain clear communication with families staff and internal district nurses
- Document daily health notes and ensure compliance with state and district health standards
- Provide basic first aid and respond quickly to any student health concerns or incidents
- Support student populations across special education and general education needs
Experience You’ll Need
- Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Experience in school nursing pediatrics or youthbased healthcare strongly preferred
- Comfortable working independently while staying connected to the district’s nursing team
- Able to manage a wide range of student medical needs including seizure protocols allergy response asthma care and daily medication administration
- Organized and detailoriented when it comes to maintaining documentation and following healthcare plans
- Flexible availability:
- Full coverage needed at one site (July 7 – August 14)
- Partial or fillin coverage (1–3 weeks) potentially needed at another site
- One site is fully covered
