These roles are responsible for inspecting grading and classifying tires to ensure compliance with Continental Tire quality standards. The role involves identifying defects operating grading equipment inputting quality data and taking corrective actions when nonconformities arise. It also requires strong attention to detail adherence to safety and environmental standards and the flexibility to support audits shift rotations and quality processes across multiple inspection areas.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Visually inspect finished and inprocess tires to ensure quality specifications are met identifying and classifying defects and determining appropriate next steps or final disposition.
- Execute tire grading and classification according to Continental Tire WW standards and offstandard catalogues including rework safe launch dock audits sorting activities and postinspection processes.
- Perform quality checks using hand tools gauging devices and computer systems; input qualityrelated data into grading systems and conduct dock audits on outgoing shipments.
- Respond quickly to nonconformities quality issues or equipment downtime by notifying supervision stopping operations if necessary and initiating corrective or preventive actions.
- Rotate to other shifts as needed follow written and oral instructions regarding specs and tolerances and support internal product audits and warehouse sorting for quality holds.
- Operate bead heating machines and ensure proper handling and rerouting of tires throughout the inspection and grading process.
- Maintain compliance with safety and environmental standards including ISO/TS16949 and CCC and report any unsafe or polluting hazards immediately.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel and basic computer skills for data entry and problemsolving related to tire inspection and classification.
- Maintain component knowledge accuracy and strong communication skills in a fastpaced production environment.
- Must be able to pass a Titmus eye exam (with or without corrective lenses) and consistently apply high attention to detail during all inspections.
- Be selfmanaged detailoriented and capable of performing under pressure
- Follow all plant ESH CBS quality and department processes and procedures
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications :
THE ENVIRONMENT
- Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures / guidelines must be always adhered to. This includes safety wear such as hearing protection safety shoes safety glasses (as needed)
- 12hour 223 pattern (panama) shift 6:457:00 (can be either days or nights) including every other weekend and overtime as needed
- Training schedule could potentially be on a different pattern
- These jobs are within a climatecontrolled environment and you will be exposed forklift and pedestrian traffic and noise
- These roles involve various physical tasks including lifting tires/material and operating machinery and tools with comprehensive training provided
- These roles start at $20.70 an hour. If internal candidates are offered pay may change depending on current hourly rate
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE
- High school diploma or GED
- One or more years experience in manufacturing environment other relevant experience or military
- Must be willing to work selected shift for this position
- Must be able to pass titmus exam (advanced vision screening) and color vision exam provided by Continental
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job posting
