Business Development Sales Associate Location: Cleveland Ohio Reports to: National Sales Representative Contact: Sarah Kauffman JOB SUMMARY The Business Development Sales Associate identifies all prospects in the assigned territory or customer list evaluating the resources needed to develop business relationships. They develop sales strategies proposals and forecasts selling approved products and services. The Business Development Sales Associate works strategically with customers to provide solutions to meet their material handling needs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Process sales transactions process returns or exchanges and upsell or crosssell products to new and existing customers.
- Prospects for new customers both retail end users and wholesale/dealerships nationally.
- Develop proposals and quotes in accordance with NexTier standards.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service.
- Engage customers by adapting to their buying style incorporating proven sales techniques and a consultative approach to effectively demonstrate the companys material handling solutions.
- Collaborates with other internal department staff members as needed working closely with all company divisions to develop crossselling strategies and ensure a great customer experience.
- Initiate all documentation to complete sales orders and manage the process beginning to end.
- Meets customer expectations for continued support and followup after sales are final including truck delivery signing of the delivery report truck orientation service schedules etc.
- Facilitate demonstrations of material handling solutions as needed with ongoing followups throughout the sales process.
- Consistently works toward acquiring new business by generating leads following up on them and networking through current customers.
- Attends team meetings to review department goals and strategies as required.
- Works with National Sales Representative to develop annual sales goals and works toward meeting them.
- Consistently monitors territory by making sales calls daily.
- Comply with inventory control procedures.
- Uses CRM to track daily customer interactions.
- Always maintain professionalism on the job.
- They are reliable and punctual in reporting for work as scheduled.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature as required.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION - High School Diploma or equivalent.
- College Degree preferred.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS - Sales Training or previous sales experience a plus.
- Experience with LinkedIn Navigator and/or Salesforce preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as a team.
- Strong written andverbal communication skills.
- Ability to develop relationships with customers.
- Minimal travel outside of the territory (trade shows training).
