Job Description
We are looking for a Software Engineer who is passionate about building customerfacing applications from the ground up. Strong C#/.NET development skills with full stack development capabilities is a must. This is an opportunity to join a growing team of developers working on highly visible websites for wellknown consumer brands such as Master Lock Moen ThermaTru and Larson. In this role you will be part of a crossfunctional team that is responsible for the full software development life cycle.
Position location This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule based out of Deerfield IL. Effective mid2025 Fortune Brands will transition to a new worldclass campus in Deerfield bringing together associates from across our U.S. offices brands and functions. The campus will offer vibrant workspaces for collaboration along with amenities for dining onsite daycare fitness and recreation.
RESPONSIBLIITIES:
What you will be doing
- Develops enhancements and new application functions to achieve business goals across multiple tech stacks based on requirements defined in collaboration with ecommerce team members and other crossfunctional partners.
- Provides application support including technical problem resolution and bug fixes.
- Maintains current knowledge and understanding of common security vulnerabilities; develops applications based on secure coding techniques ensuring secure operation.
- Assists in maintaining the integrity of the codebase in applications by writing and evaluating unit tests and performing rigorous development testing.
- Collaborates frequently with business stakeholders to develop requirements for new and existing software projects.
- Leads efforts to identify opportunities to enhance technology and innovations.
- Leads and/or participate in agile ceremonies such as story grooming sprint planning etc. may include project leader and administration responsibilities.
Qualifications :
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree in Business Administration Information Systems Computer Science or Computer Engineering is required.
- Proficient developing web applications using C# .NET framework and MVC.
- Experience developing REST APIs and RESTful services.
- Experience configuring and developing relational databases.
- Competent knowledge of basic web technologies including HTML JSON CSS and XML.
- Minimum of 3 years of web development experience is required.
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving programmatical performance issues.
- General understanding of full stack build processes and tools.
- Strong knowledge of Git and version control.
- Experience with GraphQL including designing schemas implementing resolvers and optimizing queries for performance.
- Proven track record of successful consumerfacing website implementation projects.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in servicebased architecture (Azure Functions development is a plus).
- Experience configuring AWS and/or Azurehosted services and applications (EC2 S3 Azure DB Azure Services).
- Experience with a Javascript/Typescript framework such as Angular or NextJS implementing responsive design serverside rendering or static site generation and optimizing for performance and SEO.
- Experience tracking and managing work in Azure DevOps or Jira.
- Experience writing C# and .NET unit tests.
- Experience working with LowCode/NoCode platforms.
- Experience working with and processing large amounts of data.
- Experience with SAP Commerce Cloud including configuring and customizing the platform to meet business needs integrating with other systems and optimizing performance.
- Experience with building components for use with a Content Management System in Composable Architecture.
Additional Information :
Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $93000 USD $167000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range or be above or below the range based on factors including but not limited to education training experience professional achievement business need and location. In addition to base salary employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance or a rolebased sales incentive plan.
