Get to know the role
We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead our Development Team for Security Engineering projects. You will be responsible for building growing and leading a team of engineers dedicated to developing highquality security automation systems that safeguard Grabs ecosystem which includes 800 application services 2000 databases a multicloud infrastructure spanning three providers and over 750 million database IOPS daily.
You will help lead designing developing and scaling solutions for proactive safeguards and sane defaults for platforms container security threat detection automated incident response and security monitoring across Grabs ecosystem. This role is onsite in our Petaling Jaya Malaysia office.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- You will lead a team of engineers across different tech stacks. We are looking for a handson approach where you will still contribute to the codebase with your team.
- Youll work with leaders to shape the product roadmap set customer metrics and plan experiments.
- You will initiate companywide engineering projects with senior leaders.
- You will set the engineering strategy and target outcomes for the team improving testability availability security and code quality for your systems and modules
- You will grow senior engineering talent across Grab.
Qualifications :
What Essential Skills You Will Need
- Youre comfortable getting handson with coding and know your way around modern programming languages and frameworks.
- You have at least 5 years to engineering experience on web mobile backend or infrastructure technologies. During this time you have been able to develop several largescale applications.
- You have experience as a successful software engineer manager or tech lead. Experience mentoring engineers is critical for this role.
Good to have:
- You have knowledge of Cloud Security and understanding of Security Operations DevSecOps or Security Automation
- You have experience of security technologies (firewalls EDR SIEM IAM encryption)
- You have experience with common attack vectors and defense strategies
- Professional certifications preferred (CISSP CEH Security GIAC certifications)
- You have experience with DevSecOps tools design automation and CI/CD tools including IaC (Infrastructure as Code) GitLab/GitHub Jenkins application containers and IAM (Identity and Access Management) in AWS and Azure.
- You have experience with Cloud Computing (AWS Azure GCP) and Containers
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python PowerShell Bash)
- You have handson experience with vulnerability assessment tools and techniques
- You have familiarity with risk assessment and threat modelling techniques static (code repositories scanning and secrets management) and dynamic code security analysis and testing software composition analysis and API security.
