Job Description

Mirantis is looking for a talented Sustaining Engineer with experience in Golang Docker Kubernetes and public clouds to help us maintain and evolve the Containers platform. You will join the Sustaining Engineering team working on the following technologies: Mirantis Kubernetes Engine Mirantis Secure Registry and Mirantis Container Runtime. You are a friendly effective communicator who is inherently interested in solving complex problems and delivering a highlevel of customer satisfaction with every customer interaction (via help content and tickets). You enjoy building reproducers and finding bugs. You sling code for fun. You will work closely with Knowledge Management Engineering and Product Management to represent the voice of the customer.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Become an expert in Mirantis Cloud Native Platform technologies and customer deployment environments

  • Research customers software patches requirements design and develop features along with patch improvements in Golang for Mirantis Cloud Platform

  • Create bestinclass help content and proactively perform audits for our publiclyfacing knowledge management system

  • Partner crossfunctionally with product and solution experts to codevelop reference architecture content

  • Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques (debug and diagnose) on critical highly complex problems that span multiple layers of the technology stack

  • Engage with the product engineering teams to resolve technical issues related to Docker/Kubernetes

  • Build and maintain customer based reproducer environments for use by your team and other technical teams at Mirantis

  • Reproduce customer issues and package bug reproducers for product engineering

  • Diagnose and develop codelevel fixes apply patches and repackage for customer test

  • Drive deep technical postmortems on behalf of customers

 


Qualifications :

  • BS degree in Computer Science Software Engineering  or equivalent practical experience

  • 4 years of combined experience in Software Development Technical Support or Sustaining Engineering experience

  • Knowledge of Go programming language MUST

  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker MUST

  • Experience in designing and implementing REST APIs

  • Familiarity with Linux distributions (RHEL CentOS Ubuntu and SLES)

  • Demonstrated ability to perform codelevel analysis of complex issue

  • Extensive experience troubleshooting remote Linux system issues
