Primary Function of Position
Product Managers play a critical role in Ions success by empowering teams across technical and commercial functions to bring lifechanging tools to our customers and patients. The Staff Software Product Manager will be responsible for the development of the nextgeneration software portfolio of Ion a novel robotic technology for lung access. This role will own the next generation software product roadmap across multiple product franchises scoping the development of new software features and owning the endtoend systemlevel software experience.
The ideal candidate for this role must have excellent communication organization and technical skills. The ability to evangelize product narratives to key stakeholders while maintaining a high attention to detail and serving as the central pointofcontact for next generation software product development workstreams is key.
Expertise in product management methodology project management methodology software development early stage product conceptualization and product roadmap development within healthcare/medical devices is a plus. This role will report to the Group Product Manager of software.
Essential Job Duties
Product Strategy and Roadmap Development
- Develop next generation software product roadmap across multiple product franchises in the Ion business unit
- Develop a deep knowledge of the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer and future clinical spaces including monitoring and consuming clinical literature attending medical society meetings and engaging with physician key opinion leaders
Market Landscape and Voice of Customer
- Understand competitive emerging and complementary technology and its impact on Intuitives endoluminal product lines
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative market research. Direct customer interviews (patients HCPs & their care team providers and payers) and observations to develop insights and inform the product roadmap
Marketing Claims:
- Develop customer segmentation and marketing claims strategy for next generation product franchises
- Drive crossfunctional alignment on pre and postlaunch product roadmap and data collection in preclinical and clinical settings
Product Feature Development and Prioritization
- Partner with product franchise leads to develop and prioritize software product investigations features and product requirements for next generation software
- Partner with UX and Clinical to prototype and assess prototype product solutions.
- Evaluate critical business requirements and potential product impact
EndtoEnd Ownership of Software Features
- Own and scope the endtoend software experience for users across next generation product franchises and global geographies to ensure a unified consistent and streamlined user experience
- Drive desirability feasibility and viability assessments of next generation software product features to prioritize next generation product portfolio
Business Analysis
- Ability to collect organize and leverage datasets to build business cases and drive business decisions for next generation software product lines
- Identify highleverage software innovations by customer desirability business viability and longerterm NPV methodologies
New Technologies and Global Launches
- Partner with engineering and business development teams to assess new technologies potential partnerships and prioritize the new business development software pipeline
- Collaborate with regional teams to ensure that product features and NextGen portfolio align with user needs across geographies
Qualifications :
Required Skills and Experience
- Ability to manage departmental and crossfunctional projects stakeholders and teams; effectively resolves issues that impact multiple teams and departments involving complex strategies and highlevel priorities.
- Proven track record of leading strategic initiatives from concept through to completion.
- Able to prioritize and smoothly manage multiple tasks product lines and product features

- Selfstarter with ability to take leadership in a fastpaced environment with agility to pivot focus to meet evolving customer needs and shifting market dynamics.
- Consistently communicates effectively across varying organizational levels and takes the lead in communicating with and influencing senior collaborators.
- Excellent executive communication and presentation skills including experience presenting to senior management and customers.
- Demonstrated interest in healthcare hospital operations and finance
- Ability to work in surgical labs and hospital patient care areas is required
- Ability to travel up to 30%
Required Education and Training
- Minimum of a Bachelors (BS/BSE) in computer science engineering mathematics or a related technical field strongly preferred
- 12 years of experience in product management with a Bachelors Degree 8 years of experience in product management with a Masters degree or 5 years of experience in product management with PhD
- At least 5 years of experience in medical devices or a similar field
- Product launch experience
- Relevant experience in medical devices and/or engineering/technical organizations
Working Conditions
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Masters or Doctorate degree in life science engineering or business discipline preferred
- Experience leading a portfolio of product lines as the singlepointofcontact in a regulated environment
- Experience in one or more of the following areas preferred: medical software capital equipment medical devices digital health robotics regulated product development

It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role as actual pay will be determined based on several factors including experience skills and qualifications.
