DYS is the juvenile corrections system for the state of Ohio. DYS is statutorily mandated to confine felony offenders ages 1021 who have been adjudicated and committed by one of Ohios 88 county juvenile courts. During their stay with DYS youth are engaged in programming that is designed to address their criminological and behavioral needs. DYS reaches thousands of youth in facilities and those on parole.

BACKGROUND CHECK NOTICE:
The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check and preemployment drug screening. Criminal convictions do not necessarily preclude an applicant from consideration for a position. An individual assessment of an applicants prior criminal convictions will be made before excluding an applicant from consideration.
PRESERVICE TRAINING:
The final candidate selected will be required to attend 3 weeks of mandatory paid PreService Training at the DYS Training Academy in Orient Ohio. DYS provides transportation lodging and meals. PreService Training is Monday Thursday 7:00 am 5:00 pm.

DYS is seeking a Juvenile Correctional Operations Manager at Indian River Juvenile Correctional Facility located in Massillon Ohio. The ideal candidate will be a leader with excellent communication skills and a passion to habilitate youth.

Completion of undergraduate core program in business or public administration social or behavioral science (e.g. social work psychology criminal justice criminology) or law enforcement; and 6 mos. exp. in supervisory managerial or administrative position or in program management or program development; and 2 courses or 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in labor relations/employee relations.
