About the Role
A leading plaintiffside employment law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its dynamic team. This position offers the opportunity to advocate for employee rights in a collaborative missiondriven environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in employment litigation a passion for representing plaintiffs and the ability to manage cases independently from inception through resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of employment law matters including discrimination harassment retaliation wrongful termination and wage and hour claims
- Draft pleadings motions discovery requests and responses and other legal documents
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda
- Take and defend depositions
- Represent clients in mediations arbitrations hearings and trials
- Negotiate settlements and provide strategic legal advice to clients
- Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff to develop effective case strategies
- Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates and manage expectations
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active bar membership in both California and New York (required)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in employment law preferably on the plaintiff side
- Strong litigation skills including experience with discovery depositions and motion practice
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Demonstrated commitment to advocating for employee rights
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
