Under immediate supervision serves as a Clerical Support Trainee through the Disabilities Worker Training Program (DWTP) for a period of six to seventytwo months. Performs a variety of office support functions for the Office of Learning and Talent Development. Becomes familiar with various reports and training materials to assist in gathering information for report preparation training needs and responding to training and support service program inquiries for review by the supervisor. Prepares training and support services materials records reports and other documents for the Bureau. Sorts date stamps and distributes incoming mail. Assists in updating the Bureaus training calendar scheduling training as well as support service program events and preparing materials in preparation for trainings and support service program events. Answers screens and forwards incoming telephone calls. Responds to routine nontechnical inquiries. Refers calls to appropriate staff.

Serves as a Clerical Support Trainee through the Disabilities Worker Training Program (DWTP) for a period of six to seventytwo a variety of office support functions for the Office of Learning and Talent Development utilizing automated office equipment including a personal computer.
Prepares training and support services materials records reports and other documents for the Bureau.
Answers screens and forwards incoming telephone calls.
Becomes familiar with the agencys timekeeping the Bureaus timekeeper with entering employees daily attendance in a computerized payroll system resolves outstanding time issues including incorrect or missing entries etc..
Assists the Bureau in maintaining inventory of equipment.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Requires knowledge skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.
Requires no previous experience.
The Clerical Trainee class has been identified as subject to provisions of the Personnel Code 20 ILCS 415/17b according to which suitable positions at state agencies may be identified and included in the Disabled Workers Training Program (DWTP) and are thereby reserved for the employment and training of individuals with disabilities. Qualified participants in the program are authorized to work at least 20 hours per week and the training program duration may be extended up to a maximum of 72 months to allow for the program goals to be achieved and the incumbent to become eligible for promotion to an appropriate fulltime position. The actual duration of the DWTP training period is dependent upon the desirable requirements of the target title and the percentage of a fulltime equivalent work schedule that the incumbent works as a trainee. Individuals who successfully complete a trainee appointment are eligible for promotion to the target title without further examination.
Ability to keyboard accurately at 30 wpm.
