Do you have experience in a law office or court Can you lead other workers ensuring they meet deadlines giving feedback and training them Do you have excellent attention to detail and organizational skills You may be our new Support Unit Supervisor!


As a Support Unit Supervisor you will work directly with the support unit that processes legal petitions subpoenas warrants summons judgments and dispositions. Support staff create and maintain records and update court databases with pleas dispositions sentences motions and notices. You will lead this unit review their work and complete performance evaluations.


To thrive in this role you must havea good understanding of the work of Juvenile Court support staff and Juvenile Court processes and procedures. You need excellent communication skills including the ability to lead and inspire others.


Having court legal processing experience in a District Court Juvenile Court or Superior Court is helpful. Experience in leading or supervising staff that perform complicated rulesbased work will support your success in this position.

Job Duties

STATEMENT OF ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  1. Supervises counsels coaches and evaluates the work of support employees.
  2. Supports recruiting efforts selection onboarding training and professional growth of support employees.
  3. Provides ongoing feedback to staff regarding areas of strength growth and development along with goal setting opportunities and documents the feedback/conversations in an annual employee evaluation.
  4. Coordinates and schedules support unit work to ensure appropriate services are being offered and performed for efficient court operations.
  5. Assures all duties of subordinate employees are appropriately assigned and may perform their duties as necessary.
  6. Develops and reviews operational policies procedures guidelines and handbooks by interpreting applying and complying with related laws rules regulations and codes.
  7. Routinely reviews and collects data to show impact of the teams work reviews data to identify trends in services shares data with internal stakeholders.
  8. Gives presentations to internal stakeholders regarding program services activities and progress.
  9. Uses data to conduct process reviews and recommends process changes to continually improve accuracy and efficiency; initiates and monitors approved program changes to better achieve court goals.
  10. Serves as a member of the divisional management team; participates in the management/departmental meetings; participates in the preparation of divisional goals and objectives.
  11. Participates in the preparation and achievement of court goals and objectives.
  12. Performs related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Three (3) years of experience working in related unitspecific support operations; AND three (3) years of experience in supervision/leading employees; OR sufficient education and experience to successfully perform the functions of the position.


SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Applicants are required to pass a criminal background check including finger printing.

  • Work independently and under pressure meet deadlines and cope with interruptions.
  • Exercise initiative and judgment and make decisions within the scope of assigned authority.
  • Operate standard office equipment.


SUPERVISION
The employee reports to an administrative manager. The work is performed with considerable independence in accordance with established policies and procedures. The employee supervises the work of subordinate support staff. Supervisors are responsible for the accuracy of the work produced by their subordinates.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The work is performed in the usual office environment. Hybrid telework may be available; requests reviewed on a casebycase basis.
