DaVita is looking for a Dialysis Tech (PCT) to Float and serve our patients based out of our Navarre Dialysis Center in Navarre OH.
This teammate will be required to float to other clinics within the greater Canton Ohio region including: Dover Wooster Massillon Alliance and Millersburg.
Dialysis Experience Preferred!
Some details about this position:
- Operational Hours: Monday Saturday hours determined by the clinic can be as early as 3:00am for opener and as late as 6pm for closer
- PCTs expected shifts for this clinic: 34 days/week with a minimum of two Saturdays/month and can be asked to start as early as 3:00 am
- Hours of work may vary during the training period; however you will typically be working between 3240 hours per week during training
- You must have a flexible schedule and be able to work mornings evenings weekends and holiday
- Paid training: DaVita offers all new dialysis teammates a robust paid training program to help you learn the right dialysis skills. The training is a mix of classroom and hands on training.
- Reimbursement for your Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) license

- Training may take place in a facility or a training clinic with a class of new teammates other than your assigned home clinic
Requirements:
- You are reliable (punctuality and attendance is crucial) have a great attitude willing to take on extra tasks work as a team player know how to work hard and have fun as well can manage stressful situations looking for a career in patient care are comfortable with early shifts and long hours on your feet reliable transportation and love a fastpaced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited school
- Must be comfortable working around blood and needles
- Must be comfortable mixing acid or bicarb
- Flexibility and availability to work mornings evenings weekends and holidays as needed
- Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12 hours) on your feet so wear comfortable shoes! Our work ends when its safe for our patients.
- Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.
- Health care experience preferred including: BONENT Certified Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Phlebotomy certification.

Dialysis Tech Day to Day
- 25%: Receives patient into treatment/exam area; weighs patient takes temperature and blood pressure pre and postdialysis; documents on all dialysis flow sheets. Performs and records vital signs and all other parameters of ESKD patients as per DaVita policy and/or state regulations; obtains blood samples and culture specimens and prepares for shipment.
- 25%: Under guidance of nurse and/or preceptor sets up and monitors dialysis machines and reverse osmosis (RO) water system for correct functioning responds to visual and audible alarms and makes appropriate adjustments before during and after the dialysis treatment performs safety checks as directed by the registered nurse. Dismantles cleans and disinfects dialysis machines and equipment in accordance to DaVita procedures; performs appropriate end of therapy terminal cleaning and disinfection of the dialysis equipment with guidance of nurse and/or preceptor.
- 20%: Collects patient data and reports to nurse and/or preceptor as needed related to:
- Monitoring and documenting status of vascular accesses
- Documenting patient observations and seeks guidance when levels are out of normal range for ESKD patients
- Reporting patient parameters to registered nurse as needed
- Under guidance of nurse and/or preceptor initiates dialysis via approved accesses using proper cannulation or central venous catheter techniques in accordance with state federal and local regulations
- 20%: Reviews dialysis prescription notes general physical and mental condition of patient through observation and interview obtains information and/or data to determine compliance to dietary or medication regimen; documents observations and reviews with nurse and/or preceptor.
- 5%: Performs clerical duties as needed and reviews with nurse and/or preceptor which may include: filing lab requisitions scheduling appointments answering phones ordering supplies billing copying faxing data entry and maintaining patient charts.
