Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Islington to assist with the appointment of a Traffic Engineer on a 3month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 30.00 35.00 per hour

Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Traffic Engineer to join our Traffic and Parking team within the Public Realm division. The successful candidate will contribute to the effective delivery of traffic and engineering services supporting the improvement of the local transport network through planning design and implementation of traffic schemes. This is an exciting opportunity to work on impactful projects in an inner London borough with a strong emphasis on innovation community involvement and sustainability.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialist traffic engineering services and support junior officers within the service.
  • Design develop implement and improve traffic and transportation schemes.
  • Project manage assigned schemes from feasibility to implementation and postevaluation.
  • Liaise and consult with residents businesses and stakeholders ensuring inclusive participation.
  • Monitor and manage budgets produce financial estimates and maintain cost control throughout project delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering or Transportation or equivalent experience.

Requirements:

  • Chartered or Incorporated Membership of a recognised engineering institution (or working towards).
  • At least 4 years of postqualification experience in traffic/transportation engineering.
  • Experience in public consultation and userfocused service delivery.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects within budget and to deadlines.
  • Familiarity with CDM Regulations the Highways Act 1980 and other relevant legislation.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems innovatively and strategically.
  • Experience working in urban environments preferably within a local government setting.
