The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitization of dishes utensils cookware and food service equipment using manual and mechanical methods. This role supports food preparation and service across the facility contributing to a safe sanitary and efficient kitchen and dining environment. Additional responsibilities are performed as needed to support the departments goals.
Following department standards wash rinse sanitize and store service ware (e.g. dishes pots pans silverware trays utility carts).
Return soiled dishware and trays from patient areas to the dish room for cleaning.
Ensure an adequate supply of clean trays and utensils is available in the cafeteria during mealtimes.
Record warewashing equipment temperatures and sanitizer levels per policy.
Set up clean and maintain food service equipment safely and hygienically.
Use appropriate cleaning tools chemicals and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain cleanliness of dining areas including tables chairs highchairs and floors.
Sweep and mop floors as needed and clean up spills promptly using wet floor signage.
Collect remove and dispose of trash and cardboard. Sanitize trash receptacles regularly.
Support catering functions by delivering retrieving and cleaning up after events as assigned.
Clean vending areas including counters microwaves and floors.
Provide courteous customer service to internal and external customers; greet guests and follow the dress code.
Apply service recovery methods when necessary and notify the supervisor of customer concerns.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support departmental objectives.
High school education or GED preferred
Six (6) months of food service or commercial dishwashing experience preferred
Required: ServSafe Food Handler Training Certificate Program or another ANSIaccredited Food Handler Training Certificate Program within thirty (30) days of hire. Certification must be maintained throughout employment.

Working Conditions:
Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme heat
Noise level is typically moderate
Must comply with all applicable federal state and local safety and health regulations
Must be able to access and move around workspaces equipment shelves and surfaces at various heights
Compensation
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets experience and training licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
