Job Description

As we expand our reach we are seeking a meticulous and detailoriented Remote Proofreader to ensure the accuracy and clarity of our written materials.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detailoriented Remote Proofreader to meticulously review and correct a variety of documents including medical reports patient communications website content marketing materials internal communications and other written content. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional grammar punctuation spelling and style skills along with a keen eye for detail and consistency. This is a fully remote position requiring a selfmotivated individual with excellent time management and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

Thoroughly proofread and edit a wide range of documents for grammar spelling punctuation capitalization syntax and factual errors.

Ensure accuracy clarity consistency and adherence to Wecare Medical Specialty Groups style guide and brand voice.

Verify the accuracy of names dates figures and other specific details within documents.

Identify and suggest improvements to sentence structure clarity and overall readability.

Collaborate with writers editors and other team members to resolve any discrepancies or ambiguities.

Maintain a strong understanding of medical terminology and the ability to accurately proofread medical content.

Manage workload effectively to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.

Utilize provided software and tools for proofreading and tracking changes.

Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling patientrelated information.

Provide constructive feedback to content creators to improve the quality of future writing.

Stay updated on current grammar rules style guides and proofreading best practices.

Qualifications:

Proven experience (minimum of 23 years) as a professional proofreader or copy editor preferably within the healthcare or medical field.

Exceptional command of the English language including grammar spelling punctuation and syntax.

Strong knowledge of various style guides (e.g. AP AMA) and the ability to apply them consistently.

Familiarity with medical terminology abbreviations and common medical writing conventions.

Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in using word processing software (e.g. Microsoft Word) and familiarity with editing and tracking changes features.

Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment.

Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to take initiative.

A reliable highspeed internet connection and a dedicated home office setup.

Requirement:

Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid and unrestricted US work permit. Wecare Medical Specialty Group is unable to sponsor visas for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in English Journalism Communications or a related field.

Experience using project management or collaboration tools.

Familiarity with SEO principles and web content proofreading.
