Were looking for a

Senior Capital Analyst

Based in our London office and reporting into a Senior Capital Actuary this role will support the expansion of Hamiltons capital modelling and investment risk functions. The capital team at Hamilton is wellintegrated into the wider business leveraging its modelling and data to play a key role in many areas for example its modelling is used to inform reinsurance purchases as well as investment risk and capital allocation decisions at Grouplevel. This ensures there are always interesting projects to work on outside of the regulatory deliverables to Lloyds and the Central Bank of Ireland

Hamilton Global Specialty is our multiplatform specialty insurer operating primarily through a Lloyds Syndicate and Dublin operating company with a managing general agency in the US.


What you will do

  • Maintain and develop entity capital models. The role would primarily focus on the Igloo internal model for our Lloyds syndicate S4000 and the Standard Formula for our Irish entity. There will also be opportunities to get involved in Group capital modelling which sits within the London team
  • Support the validation process to Lloyds liaising with external consulting actuaries where necessary in support of this
  • Contribute to model use such as presenting analysis on reinsurance to the Ceded Reinsurance function to inform purchase decisions
  • Help develop investment risk modelling to support the Group investment risk framework which is run by the capital team in London
  • Keep abreast of developments in the capital modelling and risk fields
  • Liaise with the profession on the market and other issues related to capital and planning


What you require for the role


  • 34 years in a general insurance actuarial role or equivalent
  • A desire to build a career as a General Insurance actuary
  • Experience of capital modelling development and use of Igloo software would be advantageous
  • Experience with report writing and presenting would be beneficial
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • A practical mindset keen to add value to the Hamilton business
