The Role:
As a Stamping Material Planning & Logistics Supervisorat Ford Oakville you will do all that and more. We are investing to expand the Ford Oakville plant to produce the legendary FSeries Super Duty pickup truck. You will lead a production team to drive a culture of excellence focus and collaboration. You will foster a positive culture through Servant Leadership and lead though example for all those you work with. Your teams success will depend on your ability to ensure production schedules and quality targets are achieved across the department. You will deliver all department scorecard objectives own processes and ensure standardization across the department. Continuous improvement inventory management interdepartmental communication and driving the Ford Production System as a change agent will also be core functions in this role.
Responsibilities- Lead evaluate and empower hourly team members.
- Build strong interpersonal relationships with hourly team members.
- Coach and train to ensure objectives are met through standardized work.
- Support Continuous Improvement and problem resolution.
- Provide and encourage open communication.
- Build Team Leader and Team Member capability.
- Create a conducive work environment for the teams to complete their assigned responsibilities.
- Basic administration of supervisory responsibilities and documents.
- Responsible for the daily material handling functions for the facility.
- Ensure proper material flow from receiving dock to warehouse storage location to the production line feed location.
- Support Ford Production System and synchronous material flow through lean manufacturing practices
- Ensure flawless introduction of new parts to production through proactive planning and crossfunctional communication
- Effectively implement the Engineering Change Process
- Manage inventory levels identify data gaps in CMMS (missed production counts etc.) and take corrective actions.
- Address department Health and Safety concerns. Enforce compliance with government industry and corporate standards.
- Drive root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Achieve labour and operating budget targets.
- Recognize and celebrate accomplishments.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
- Education: College Diploma/Certificate
- Experience: Minimum two years in manufacturing Supervisory/Quality roles.
- Must be able to work all shifts; days afternoons midnights and weekends.
- Must be able to travel outside of Canada for training at other Ford sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in highspeed ClassA automotive Stamping operations.
- Knowledge of constraint management principals.
- Demonstrated ability to lead empower and develop employees.
- Ability to interact with all employees in the organization.
- Demonstrated conflict management skills.
- Working knowledge of the Ford Production System and constraint management.
- Strong communication and problemsolving skills including Six Sigma.
