The Cyber Calibration Engineering team is looking for a highly qualified and motivated engineer to develop vehicle propulsion system physical models for propulsion control system performance characterizations verification and validation use cases across electric hybrid electric and conventional vehicles. The Cyber Calibration Engineering team is part of Vehicle Propulsion System Engineering (VPSE) organization that characterizes and validates the propulsion control system calibration to deliver customer attributes and regulatory requirements. The candidate will be responsible for developing cuttingedge analytical solutions for SIL (Software in the Loop) and HIL (Hardware in the Loop) environments to solve complex electrified propulsion systems challenges and optimize customer experience of Ford Motor Companys electrified vehicles. The application of SIL / HIL based propulsion system calibration processes to our calibration development and validation work is new and developing and presents an exciting opportunity for new capability and process development. This position is in the VPSE organization and Cyber Calibration Engineering Team where you will work alongside team members developing SIL and HIL environment capability for calibration. The Cyber Calibration Engineering Team is committed to envisioning and creating methods tools and processes that increase our calibration development and validation efficiency and quality.
What youll do...
Youll have...
BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
2 years of academic/professional experience in propulsion systems development with an understanding of the calibration process.
2 years of academic/professional experience developing and testing propulsion system analytical models.
Even better you may have...
MS/PhD in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
5 years of propulsion systems development experience with an understanding of the calibration process.
5 years of experience developing and testing propulsion system analytical models.
Knowledge of electrified and ICE propulsion systems/components and their operation and interactions within the system.
Experience with powertrain and cabin thermal management system simulation.
Experience with data driven reduced order model development using artificial neutral networks.
Experience with 1D system simulation tools (Dymola Simulink GT Suite Amesim Flomaster etc.).
Experience with programming and automation (MATLAB scripts Python etc.).
Familiarity with version control systems like Github.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
