Child Support Case Manager Entry (Bend)Job Description:
The Bend DCS office is assigned child support cases in Crook Deschutes Harney Hood River Jefferson Klamath Lake and Wasco counties. This includes the establishment modification and enforcement of child support and health care obligations as well as the establishment of paternity. The Bend DCS office works cooperatively with three federally recognized tribes The Confederated Tribes of Warm Spring The Klamath Tribes and The Burns Paiute Tribes along with the Crook District Attorney offices.

Job Duties (in part)
Due to the nature of this position for training the required work hours are 8 a.m. 5 p.m. Monday through Friday in office with an hour scheduled for lunch. After training is complete there may be more schedule flexibility.
Review individuals case documents and records to determine if a child support order is needed.
Contact agency customers and other service providers to gather information to assist in establishing paternity and to establish and enforce support orders.
Establish modify enforce and provide accounting records for child support orders by deciding needed action.
Apply federal and state laws rules and agency policies and procedures.
Verify payments are properly disbursed.
Verify accuracy of any state agency claims against child support.
Request review and evaluate paternity declarations to initiate action. Complete and file legal documents to establish modification requests.
Gather wage and health careinformation research and apply child support guidelines to calculate support obligation.
Required Experience

Three (3) years of experience working with the public in person or by phone giving information about services and programs and solving customer problems/complaints. Experience must include the use of personal computers webbased applications and typical software such as Microsoft Office.
OR
A Bachelors Degree may substitute for the above experience.
Work experienceis based on a 40hour work week. (Example: 20 hours a week for one year would equal sixmonths of work experience.)
AND
Finalists must pass a comprehensive employment reference check and fingerprintbased criminal background check. A driver history check will be included for positions requiring state vehicle driving findings will be evaluated to determine eligibility for the position.
After one year and upon a successful completion of trial service as a Child Support Case ManagerEntry employees will meet the minimum qualifications of Child Support Case Manager and be placed in the Child Support Case Manager classification (Salary Range (21) $4715 $6549 monthly. 6% of which is the Public Employees Retirement System contribution).
Current Division of Child Support case managers who are successful finalists will be processed as lateral transfers.
